The Birth Process

8.45am- Arrived at Dr Ho's clinic, did urine test...don't know why today's urine test failed. All these months, my urine test was good! Have to test blood glucose..I failed too!! the result was 8.1..normal result should be less than 7. Wondering is it because of the food i consumed this morning.. I had fried bee hoon, and a packet of Teh C! Was put on CTG for 20 mins..not much contraction though..

9.20am- Dr Ho checked on me..and confirmed to start the induction tdy.. he inserted the pill in to soften and fasten the cervix..was put on CTG for 1 hour.

11am- Went to Delivery Suite.. did another urine test, I have passed!! and whole day i am at the delivery suite..however, seems like no process...nothing happened..was stonning away in the room..

11.30pm- Edmund bought my last supper for the last round of my pregnancy! haha..I had wasabi fish burger, wasabi fries..and Milo! :P yummy................and off i went to bed..poor Edmund has to sleep on the arm chair for the whole nite..i think he din hv a good sleep though...


24th Oct 2008- THE ARRIVAL of ARIELLE

7.30am- nurses preparing for the induction process..scary! cos everyone seems running ard..

8.30am- Dr Ho came..said my cervix is ready..and was 2cm dilated..he has request for epidural...

9.30am- Light epidural was injected..cooling feeling..but no pain..the most painful part is the DRIPS!!! the needle inserted was really painful :(

12 noon- Nurse came to check dilation..i was ONLY 3CM dilated after few hours.. :( cont to wait...the time passes really slow..n i was dead tired as i woke up at 4.30am this morn...nurses check my BP n CTG at 5.30am...

1.30pm-3pm Contraction seems coming stronger... n i hv the pooing feeling..told the midwife..she said could b baby is pressing on my anus..dats y i felt dat way..and more over its my 1st baby..cant possibly dilate so fast..so no choice i ENDURED the pain!!!! till to a pain i really can bear it..asked Edmund to call the midwife..and not long after..Dr Ho came...he checked my dilation. It's 8cm! it dilated so fast..and damn it the nurse still tell me 1st child won't dilate so fast.. another dosage of epidural was added in..woo...its another cooling effect thru the spine.. the higher the dosage, the more drowsy i gets..and i managed to dozed off..

5.00pm- Dr Ho came again..he checked my dilation..woohoo! its the time oredi!!!! Dr Ho asked nurses to prepare me for the pushing!!

6.00pm-6.20pm I have pushed for 1 hour!!! I failed the job in pushing.. :( and i m really dead tired..felt so disappointed in myself...no choice midwife called Dr Ho..n said hv to vaccum the baby out as Dr Ho do not like to keep the baby inside for too long..the process of vacuuming was scary! n Dr Ho said i pushed for 1 hr baby stil in the same position...haiz..finally the crown is at the cervix..wow...............its darn painful!!!!!!!!!!!! not long aft i realised...baby Arielle is on my tummy..hahahaha..moments of happiness...You bet Daddy Edmund is overwhelmed with joys that he oso blur out when Dr Ho asked him to cut the umbilical cord. He is busy watching her daughter washing up..n FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES until i reminded him..pengz.........n daddy is busy walking ard taking pics..n silly him..watching Dr Ho taking out my placenta..n doing the stitches


7pm- I was told to rest in the delivery suite for one hr..and baby Arielle is besides us..wow..nw i noe y i felt so heavy while preggie..she's 3.9kg!!! and 52 cm..

8.20pm- Everyone is waiting outside.. almost 10 over ppl are waiting to see the long awaited princess..hahaha..aunties n parents broke down in tears when they see the little one..........and the joy overwhelmed the whole place! :)
